Crinum Lilies
Crinum Lilies - This study photo album contains images of crinums, primarily grown at Plant Delights. When we began our research on cold hardiness of crinums, we were uncertain how many would tolerate our Zone 7b climate, whose winter lows can reach 0 degrees F. We have been pleasantly surprised with our successes, and we now know that some crinum species, despite their warm climate origins, can even tolerate winters as far north as Zone 5b. Our trialing continues, and we are particularly interested in trialing all of the species. If you have any species crinums to share for trial, we would be most interested. Special thanks to International Bulb Society stalwart Dr. David Lehmiller of Texas, whose dedication to the genus has made it possible to acquire species that would have otherwise been impossible to obtain. All image are copyright of Plant Delights Nursery Inc. unless others are designated in (). Thanks to Andy Cabe, Dave Lehmiller, and Herb Kelly for sharing images.
