Rhodophiala bifida is a genus of small bulbs related to Hippeastrum (commonly sold as amaryllis). While most rhodophiala species are native to Chile, we find most of these ungrowable in our hot, humid climate. We have consequently focused on making selections of Rhodophiala bifida from Argentina, which thrives in a wide range of adverse conditions. This gallery contains some of our selections as well as from others with an interest in the genus Rhodophiala. We will continue to offer seed-grown Rhodophiala bifida plants for sale, which range widely from pink to red, and will add more clonal rhodophiala selections as we build up stock.

Arisaemas are a genus of aroids, related to other genera like philodendron and spathiphyllum. Arisaema go by the common name of Jack-in-the-pulpit, and cobra lily. While the leaves of many species are interesting, it is the spathe and spadix inflorescence (what is commonly referred to as the flower) that is most fascinating. As part of our educational efforts, we present this photo gallery for your enjoyment. At any one time, we try to offer a large collection of arisaema for sale, but since production time is usually 3 years from seed, all arisaema may not be available at all times. Also, some of the special selections shown here are so unique that they can only be reproduced by division, which is much slower. We hope you will enjoy our arisaema photo gallery.

Since 1998, we are honored to have the Nationally Awarded (multiple Reuben Award Winner) cartoonist Jack Pittman to draw our catalog covers. The covers are a joint effort between Plant Delights owner Tony Avent who provides the ideas and Jack Pittman, who turns those ideas into art. Our covers are intended as a current events satire with horticultural twist.
